A few months back I got the grand tour of this place and despite the fact that it was under pretty heavy construction it was clear that Brooklyn Bowl is fucking rad! I mean, how can you go wrong with a bowling alley, gourmet restaurant, bar, and music venue in one big ass building? Plus it's all eco-friendly and has some crazy state of the art sound system. This is going to be the place to be once the doors open.

2009 JellyNYC Pool Parties Announced!
The 2009 Pool Party, which will not actually take place at McCarren Pool this year, lineups have been announced. I'm pretty excited about some of the talent this year - Black Lips, Mission Of Burma, Dark Meat, etc. Honestly I rarely ever even notice there are bands playing, too busy drinking and hanging out under the sun. This year the party moves to the Williamsburg water front, which means there should be a nice breeze coming off the river. Despite all the bands and the new location you know what I'm most excited about? BASKETBALL! Yup, there's going to be basketball courts this year and I'm going to fucking school you suckers.

BandToBand.com = My Favorite Site
I was recently introduced to an awesome website called BandToBand.com. It basically creates a family tree connecting bands via members. It's kinda crazy seeing some of these connections. For example The Bee Gees are only 8 bands removed from Slayer. Which means someone in Slayer played someone, who played with someone (and so on) that was in the Bee Gees. How fucking awesome is that? Nile is only 9 bands removed from Muddy Waters. Buddy Holly is only 9 removed from Integrity!
Shit is crazy... and fun! It also shows you the linking band member and the album they shared. It's cool because there's all types of random ass bands that had some pretty major dudes in them that I never heard of until this site. So yeah, it's also great if you want to know what weird ass side project shit Jello Biafra or Dwid has going on.

The #1 Hit On Your Birthday Was...
I might deserve a late pass on this one but I just came across a website where you can check what the #1 song on Billboard was the day you were born. It's pretty fun to check out and a perfect chance to break your friends balls about the crap song that was the soundtrack to their birth. My song was "Another One Bites The Dust.." by Queen. I'm actually surprised I got a song I don't hate.

Camp In Central Park
You don't have to be homeless to sleep in Central Park anymore kids! On June 30th the city is letting people set up tents in the park and spend the night. How fucking cool is that? Granted, there's going to be a shit load of hippies and that's a turn off but if you can round up enough friends this could be really cool. In fact, if anyone is interested in doing this let me know because this could be a lot of fun. I wonder how strict the cops are going to be about booze?
