O'Death Playing Free Show @ Brooklyn Bowl Tomorrow

My friend Jen over at The Music Slut is having her birthday party at Brooklyn Bowl tomorrow and O'Death is playing! Last night I was actually hanging with the O'Death dudes at the Kemado holiday party. They mentioned that they might play but even late last night seemed unsure if they'd have the whole band or not. Well I guess it all worked out because Jen just put the word out that O'Death would in fact be playing.

They go on pretty early, like 6PM, so get there early. With all the side projects the band has going on it might be awhile before they play again so don't miss it. And get Jen something nice for her birthday.

Tonight: The Non-Worker Party III w/ Pow Wow, The Loom, & More (Open Bar)

We're having another party at Red Star Bar tonight with The Music Slut. It's going to be pretty killer yo. We got Pow Wow, The Loom, Holler Wild Rose, and Lemming Malloy playing. BSC contributor and Radio America frontman Tom Stuart will be on the decks. We also have a Stoli open bar from 10-11PM! Yeah, that's right VODKA, no light beer or malt liquor this time around. So tonight when you're already in Greenpoint or the Burg, might as well come get drunk with us.

O'Death Played Music Hall (Northside Fest) Pics

Jen from The Music Slut had an extra ticket to the O'Death day show at Williamsburg Music Hall on Saturday. Being that O'Death is one of my favorite Brooklyn bands I gladly tagged along. The Hall was pretty empty but I guess that makes sense considering it was only 3PM. Nonetheless, O'Death put on one hell of a show. As I've noticed in other similar situations it seems that bands play better with smaller crowds. Maybe it's because they know everyone there is really a true fan, or something. Overall, I'd say Saturday ranks #2 on my awesome O'Death shows list behind only this one.

The Silent Years Got Good

Remember the Silent Years? Well I saw them a while back at Pianos and they put on a good show. But apparently they've been practicing their ass off because the show they put on Saturday night at The Delancey was fucking brilliant. They have a few new members since I last saw them and apparently that means something. Seriously though if you have a chance to see them ya gotta go.
