Tonight: Headless Horseman, DADS, Das Racist @ Piano's
Headless Horseman is playing Piano's again tonight. I haven't had a chance to see them live yet but I've heard nothing but good things and Fareed is a cool dude so I'm excited to check them out.
Also playing are DADS which is a new project from Hima (Das Racist) and Quinn (Suckers) which should be good times. Speaking of Das Racist they'll be DJing the festivities. In my experience a Das Racist DJ set can easily turn into a full on performance which would make for a pretty excellent night.

Das Racist Was On No Reservations With Anthony Bourdain
If you follow Heems from Das Racist on Twitter he's been hinting at a collaboration with Anthony Bourdain for some time now. Well, it's official folks - Das Racist is on No Reservations, the best food show ever (maybe). Well done, sirs.

Das Racist Releases Two New Videos & A Video Game
Das Racist has been on a role lately. About a week ago they dropped a video for "Who's That? Brooown!" which is crazy. It's an 8-bit video game adventure which you can actually play on their homepage. But that ain't all. Now they got another video, this one is for "Ek Shaneesh." I'm digging both songs and videos but "Who's That? Brooown!" is the clear winner here, and not just because it's a video game.
How fucking rad is this?

Cerebral Ballzy & Das Racist Played The Woods 2/1
On Monday I headed to a benefit for Haiti at The Woods. It was my first time at the place and I have to say I give it a serious thumbs up. Cheap booze, a huge yard, taco truck, and a stage...wait, why does that sound so familiar? Anyhow, the place is awesome so check it out soon.
We got to The Woods right before Cerebral Ballzy took the stage and bought some beer and shots. Before the band started Sam Mason and a man with a badge took the stage. I didn't catch the dudes name but he works for a volunteer force from Bed-Stuy who are doing serious search and rescue missions in Haiti. The fundraiser was to help them with supplies for their next mission. Isn't it fucked that we don't know the name of the dude that is out there saving lives every day and yet we know the name of a guy who flips burgers for rich people? Ahh, society.
After the intro and explanation of where all the proceeds were going Ballzy got started. The set started a little slow but that's because it was an early set and people were still just getting there. Halfway through things picked up a bit and a pit broke out. Nothing too crazy but it made things a little more interesting. During the second installment of the last song the band just fucking wiped everything out on stage. It turned into a twisted pile of guitars and limbs that rolled off the stage onto the floor. Quite an ending.
Next up was Japanther. The place was pretty packed at this point and a delayed sound check was making the crowd antsy (the telephone mics weren't working...ugh). They finally got up and running and everyone started bopping around and such. I went to the back and leaned against the wall. I'm not really a Japanther fan to be honest so I used their set as my drinking time.
The Das Racist crew took the stage next. This was my third time seeing them and they're just always a good time. They get shit faced, crack jokes, and rap about shit 90% of the crowd doesn't understand. It doesn't sound like a good formula but it works.
After the show I stumbled out pretty shit faced...but it was for charity so that's a good thing.

Tonight: LOST; Das Racist Performing Paul's Boutique
The premier episode of the final season of LOST is tonight. I will be home watching because this is the best show ever (non-comedy). But if you're leaving the house tonight I highly recommend heading to Cameo for Das Racist. They'll be performing the Beastie Boys classic Paul's Boutique in it's entirety. I saw Das Racist for the 3rd time last night and they're always good fun.

Tonight: Beets, Crystal Stilts @ BK Museum (FREE); Multiverse Playground
There's a pretty killer event going down at the Brooklyn Museum today. First of all there's a free Todd P curated show with The Beets, Crystal Stilts, & Grass Widow at Brooklyn Museum. Bob Gruen is also going to be there speaking on a panel or something. They have tons of other shit happening for free at the museum as well.
Then it's over to Third Ward for Multiverse Playground with Boy Crisis, Das Racist, and a bunch of other bands, artists, and comedians. Should be good times.

Tonight: Wild Yaks, Das Racist @ Coco66 (Free Show)
Will Roan from Amazing Baby is having a birthday party at Coco66 tonight. Wild Yaks are playing along with Tearist, Quinn Walker, Hologram, & Painus. Das Racist are the "special guest MC's" - whatever that means. After last night I wouldn't be surprised at all if they performed too.

Das Racist Played A Surprise Set At Glasslands Last Night
If you weren't at the party at Glasslands last night then you missed one hell of a night. As you may have heard The Drums were supposed to play but then they dropped off with only a few days notice. Needless to say, Sean (from Raccoon Fighter, who organized the show) was in a bit of a bind. Then the Glasslanders told him they never booked a late night dance party for after the show. So the show and the party were combined and instead of booking a replacement band for The Drums, DJs were to be brought in. The end result was a party with 3 bands, 3 DJs and 2 open bars - each an hour long. More on the DJ part in a bit.
The show started pretty well, Radio America took the stage at 9:30PM and the room already had a decent amount of people. They played a fun set. How can you not with a room full of familiar faces guzzling down free Colt 45? After they finished, Raccoon Fighter came on and did their thing. They got some people dancing up front, which is always a good thing.
The Sundelles closed the band portion of the night with a killer set. I really dig them (I'm listening to their EP as I type this) and they always put on a good show. Unfortunately, the room cleared out a bit right before they went on. Boogie Boarder and Darlings were playing at DBA right around the corner and I think some people jumped ship to check them out.
The first DJs went on as soon as The Sundelles finished up. We got Das Racist, the "Combination Pizza Hut & Taco Bell" dudes, to spin which is pretty exciting considering they're all over the place right now. They were supposed to DJ for an hour but about halfway through their DJ set they stopped...and got on stage for a surprise performance! By now it was free to get in and the word spread to the party next door and DBA that Das Racist were performing. The room started filling up with people. Kids were sucking down the free sangria and then stumbling on the dance floor. It was fucking great, we had so much fun.
After the Das Racist set I hung out for a little longer and then I split because I was pretty wasted and needed a sandwich. The place was still jumping when I bailed though so I'm guessing all went well after that.
I forgot to bring my damn camera so I don't have any pictures. If you took any let me know and I'll post them here.

Das Racist DJ Set On Friday @ Glasslands
The Drums dropped from the BSC sponsored show on Friday, big deal? Not really because we added a DJ set by Das Racist and another hour of free booze! Hell yes! The party was originally supposed to be over by 10:30PM but now it doesn't start until 9PM and then it goes all fucking night. This will be super fucking fun.
