Bottle Up & Go Playing With Titus Andronicus + New Song (Free MP3)

Bottle Up & Go are scheduled to open for Titus Andronicus at the upcoming NAG Benefit at Glasslands on August 18th at Glasslands. Titus Andronicus have been on a tear lately, having just played "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" and getting ready for a tour with Free Energy. BU&G will be taking the opportunity to showcase some new tunes which are supposed to be a little more upbeat and poppy than what they're known for.

About a month ago Bottle Up & Go played the Brooklyn Ski Club show at Don Pedro's. The band's drummer Fareed had to split town at the last minute and it looked like we were going to be short a band. But Keenan and Andrew decided to drop by anyway and just play sans drums. They played a set that was heavy on blues covers and pretty damn badass. Coincidentally, they just released a new track which features just Keenan and Andrew performing a cover of O.V. Wright's "That's How Strong My Love Is." And yes, they played this at the show.

New Band: Headless Horseman, Free Download "Wavlngth" (MP3)

Headless Horseman is a new band with Fareed Sajan (from Bottle Up & Go) and Conner O'Neill. They have four tracks you can stream on their Bandcamp page and we've got one, "Wavlngth," available as a free download. The music is atmospheric and...well, I'm not sure how to describe it but I like it. On the Bandcamp page under tags you'll find: icelandic folk music, hi-fi, lo-fi, glockenspiel, glitch, pop, reverb, baritone ukulele, big beat, percussion, pitch shifting, surf. To that my response is: Yes...exactly. Download the MP3 and enjoy. Maybe smoke a little pot too.

Tonight: Brooklyn Ski Club Presents Charissa's Birthday Riot @ Don Pedro's

The first BSC show since my birthday party in October (which had Cerebral Ballzy, Hank & Cupcakes, Sigmund Droid, Forest City and Radio America!) is tonight at Don Pedro's. The party is also a birthday bash but this time it's for my girlfriend, Charissa. The lineup as of now is Bottle Up & Go, Dirty Fences, SHAPES and Raccoon Fighter. We've also got rock n' roll dance party DJs and cheap beer ($1 Genesee, $2 Rolling Rock before 10, $3 after). Come get crazy!

Tonight: Gunfight, Bottle Up & Go, Beach Fossils @ The Pyramids

Super killer show tonight at some new joint called The Pyramids. These are some of my favorite local bands and they will kick your ass tonight. Unfortunately I can't make it due to several birthday parties. But go have fun and let me know how it is.

Tonight: Bottle Up & Go @ Brooklyn Bowl (FREE); The World Series

Our buds in Bottle Up & Go are playing a free show at Brooklyn Bowl tonight. In the world of sports we've got Game 1 of the World Series. Normally I don't give a shit about baseball (at least not since McGwire/Sosa/Bonds ruined it) but I'm from Philly and I live in NYC so Phillies vs. Yankees is a pretty big deal. Despite not being interested in baseball in years I will always hate the fucking Yankees (unless I go back in time when Babe Ruth & Gehrig were on the team) so go Phils!
