Punk Is Dead

So the Continental has officially announced it will no longer have live music. The last dwelling of NYC punk is giving up. They will remain open but will become... just a bar. The stage will be replaced with a big screen TV. Seriously, what the fuck is that shit.

This is so shitty I can't even comprehend. Where the fuck will crappy bands no one's ever heard of play now? Well, besides Trash bar - let me rephrase. Where in Manhattan will crappy bands no one's ever heard of play now? That's not supposed to be sarcastic, I'm serious.

Bands need places like the Continental to get their chops up before they move on to the bigger and better. Plus this is one of the few decent venues to catch hardcore and punk bands play. I'm going to miss shows at the Continental. My brothers band played there a few times and it was the most fun of any venue in NYC.

This is a sad, sad day my friends.
